Abstract

Allelic relationships of genes for resistance to the Pantnagar isolate of bacterial leaf blight were studied in seven resistant donor varieties. Based on the reactions of parents, F1, F2 and F3 generations of the crosses between resistant varieties, it was concluded that ‘M. Sungsong’ and ‘Wase Aikoku-3’ have the same gene for resistance. On the other hand, ‘BJ 1’ and ‘Early Prolific’, ‘Early Prolific’ and ‘M. Sungsong’, ‘Early Prolific’ and ‘LZN’, ‘BJ l’ and ‘LZN’, ‘Wase Aikoku-3’ and ‘LZN’, ‘BJ 1’ and ‘Sigadis’, ‘BJ 1’ and TKM 6’, ‘Sigadis’ and ‘Wase Aikoku-3’ and ‘Wase Aikoku-3’ and ‘TKM 6’ have non-allelic genes for resistance.
