Explicit expressions giving the estimates of genetic parameters and the sum of squares used in the analysis of variance in a diallel set having parents and one set of crosses in the model of Gardner and Eberhart are presented. The sum of squares due to varieties has been identified with that for the general combining ability. Formulae for the variances of the estimates of different parameters have also been given. The method is illustrated with an example.
