Cotton Improvement Project, Mahatma Phule Krishi Vidyapeeth, Rahuri (Ahmednagar) M.S.
One plant with abnormal bracts resembling Trego’ bract was found in G. arboreum var. AKH 111. It was studied cytologically and concluded that it is a gene mutation as in the case of G. hirsutum. The plant is being used for character transfer and for study of its genetics and linkage associations.
