Stem rust resistance of wheat variety ‘Timgalen’ against race 21 and 40 was genetically analysed. It was found that gene Sr5 protects the variety against race 21, gene Sr8 against both the races 21 and 40 and a new gene tentatively designated as SrTg protects the variety against race 40.
