Cytogenetics of Solanum Wtegrifolium and its Possible Use in Egg-Plant Breeding

Morphology and cytology of Solatium melongena var. ‘Pusa Purple Long’ S. integrifolium and their F₁ hybrid are reported. It has been concluded that cryptic structural differences have played an important role in genetic distinctiveness and morphological diversification of the two taxa.
