A set of low-neurotoxin (BOAA) varieties of Lathyrus sativus was tested in six environments. The varieties as well as environments differed significantly Though env. × var. linear component was not significant, pooled deviations were. significant. Because of the existence of such instability, rigorous testing of low-neurotoxin varieties in the areas of proposed release would appear essential.
