Abstract

“Wheat varieties Tobari’ and ‘Zambesi’ were genetically analysed against stem rust races 21 and 40. F1, F2, F3 and Backcross F2 seedlings were tested against both the races. It was found that genes Sr8 and Sr11 are protecting both the varieties against races 21 and 40. Gene Sr5 protects ‘Tobari’ against stem rust race 21 only.
