Abstract

Six varieties and their possible F1, and F2 hybrids in A. hypochondriacus L. were studied for phenotypic and genotypic correlations. Grain yield showed positive association with number of panicles/plant, length of the panicle and plant height for all generations. Among yield components, the number of panicles/plant × plant height, number of panicles/plant × panicle length and panicle length × plant height exhibited positive associations. Thus, it was suggesced that yield in A. hypochondriacus was possible through the selection for these traits.
