Abstract

Generation means were used to estimate gene effects. Both additive and dominance effects were important. The dominance component was of higher magnitude than additive component for seed yield, pod number and clusters per plant. It is suggested that segregating populations should be derived from multiple crosses followed by further intermating among desirable segregants for combining high seed yield and protein content.
