Abstract

Correlation and path analysis were conducted on 41 genotypes of sugarcane. Cane yield/clump was significantly associated with the number of tillers/clump, the number of millable canes/clump, cane thickness and cane weight. There was no significant correlation between cane yield and sucrose per cent. Path-coefficient analysis further revealed that the number of millable canes/clump and cane weight were the most important components of cane yield/clump.
