Two hundred eighty eight full-sib families in Moti composite of maize were tested at two locations in an incomplete block design with two replications. The analysis of variance for the Design I experiment of Comstock and Robinson (1948; 1952) suggested that the population under study possessed sizeable portion of additive genetic variance for plant height, ear height, cob length, cob girth, days to silk and grain yield. Full-sib selection was more effective as compared to the mass selection scheme.
