THE importance of induction of mutations for factors governing the inheritance of quantitative traits have been recommended by several scientists but the present-day-knowledge about the nature of this polygenic mutations is limited. In the present report, some of the salient findings on the characteristics of micro-mutations for traits of agronomic importance have been presented.
