Fifty hybrid combinations, raised from 5 indigenous male parents and 10 exotics, were evaluated for combining ability. Among males DGG, KTD, and KD and among females EG 11569 and EG 11571 were good combiners for different characters. On the basis of significant sea effects for different characters the best crosses were EG 11351 x DGG, EG 11569 x Hariana, EG 11538 x KTD, EG 11569 x KP, EC 11569 x KTD, EC 11548 X KTD and EC 11538 x Hariana.
