Abstract

Inheritance of resistance to sterility mosaic disease and allelic relationships of the genes present in different pigenopea genotypes have been determined. Observations in F1 and F2 generations indicated dominance of susceptibility over resistance and tolerance. However, differential behaviour of resistant lines for their disease reaction in F1 combinations with tolerant parents indicated that the tolerant reaction was dominant over the resistance of certain lines. The disease reaction of plants in F1 and F2 generations in different combinations has been explained on the basis of more than two alleles at two loci.
