Abstract

The present study was conducted with eight genotypes under three sets of environments. Unilocation was ineffective in detecting G × E interaction. Stability parameters i.e. performance, regression coefficient as well as deviation from regression had more or less the same pattern for all the genotypes and under all the 'sets of environment within limits of experimental, error. The artificially created environments at a single location, by imposing differential agronomic treatments, were best to study responsiveness of the genotypes.

Locational differences in environments cannot be substituted by artificial imposing of agronomic treatments on a single location. The best way for estimating G × E and stability parameters are a combination of Environments made through agronomic practices as well as seasonal locational, differences so as to clearly, know the responsiveness as well as stability of different genotypes.
