Abstract

Genetics of protein content in 10 diverse lines of cotton seed (Gossypium hirsutum L.) was studied through diallel analysis of F1 and F2 generations. The study revealed that both g.c.a. and s.c.a. variances were significant in F1 generation. Amongst the parents, Khandwa 2 showed the highest positive g.c.a. effect. This parent also had high per se value.
