Abstract

Forty newly developed soybean lines and 10 parent/check cultivars could be grouped in 9 clusters, utilizing observations on 17 characters, by D2 analysis. Shilajeet, Kalitur, T-49 and G. formosana Hosokawa formed separate single-variety clusters. With few exceptions, lines originating from one or related crosses tended to be included in one cluster. The potential crosses based on intercluster divergence and mean performance among new breeding lines, were PK-427×PK-416, PK-445×PK-416, PK-465×PK-416, PK-490×PK-416, PK-427×PK-466, PK-445×PK-466, and FK-490×PK-466.
