Abstract

Inheritance and linkage studies were conducted for four macromutants induced by DES in barley cultivar DL 36. All the four macromutants, namely, grandpa, early heading, ercctoides and short awn, are monogenic recessive. The character grandpa (gp) maps in the short arm of chromosome 3. Mutants early heading (ea), ercctoides (ert) and short awn (lk) are linked with the genetic markers in the linkage groups 6,1 and 4 respectively.
