Abstract

Three hybrids, na-1, na-2 and na-3, obtained from the cross Brassica nigra ×B. olcracea were investigated for leaf esterases and soluble proteins. Zymograms of hybrids were compared with those of the two parents. in both esterase and protein profiles, na-1 was closer to the female parents, B. nigra and na-2 to the male parent, B. aleracea var. alboglabra. The study of esterase ans soluble protein zymograms from leaves affords an easy method for indentifying hybrids at an early stage.
