Abstract

Using chromosome 5B manipulation, homoeologous recombinants have been induced between hexaploid wheat (Triticum aestrnum, 2n = 6x = 42) and rye (Secale cereale, 2n = 2x = 14), One of the recombinants (Sel. 1ll) possesses very high 1000-grain weight (61.1lg). Aneuploid analysis revealed that major gene(s) regulating grain-weight are located on chromosome 1A of Sel. 111.
