The genotype × environment interaction and stability parameters were studied in 14 promising sugarcane varieties of sugarcane (Sacchaarum spp. hybrids) of subtropical region using 3 years' data for both plant (two planting dates) and ratoon crops. The variances for genotypes, environment, and genotype × environment were significant. Varieties CoLK 7701, CoS 767, CoS802, CoJ75, and Co 1158 proved more stable for both cane and sugar yield in this environment. Varieties CoLK 7701 and Co 1148 were more responsive to better environment (normal planting date) than the other entries. CoS 687, CoLK 7708, and CoLK 7701 recorded moderate yield but high estimates of stability; these are more suitable for low yield environment conditions.
