Genetic study of anthocyanin pigmentation was taken up in a cross involving three pure lines characterized as dark red, light red and green seedlings. in the crosses between dark red * light red or light red × green a segregation ratio of 3:1 was obtained in F2. The observed digenic ratio in F2 for 9 dark red: 6 light red: I green in a cross involving dark red × green revealed the existence of polymeric genes governing anthocyanin pigmentation in mungbean seedlings.
