Eighty one varieties of sugarcane were tested against red rot disease under Held conditions by standard plug method during 1982–83, 1983–84 and 1984–85. Twelve clones were resistant/moderately resistant whereas twenty seven clones snowed Intermediate reaction. The remaining varieties were suspectible to highly susceptible.
