The adherent seedling leaf mutation in Coix aquatim Roxb. and C. gigantea Koen., and lazy growth habit mutation in the latter species are under the control of recessive genes designated as adl and lah, respectively. The allele for adherence is common to both the species. In C. gigantea, adl and lah showed independent assortment.
