Abstract

Linkage disequilibrium (LD) based association mapping (AM) was examined for 48 barley accessions (Hordeum vulgare L.) introduced from ICARDA in India, by a set of polymorphic SSR markers for eight agro-morphological traits. Marker trait association mapping was performed by MLM (Q+K) model and has also been validated using CMLM model. A total of twelve significant marker traits associations were found in the current study at p < 0.001. Associations of the maker, ABC252 on chromosome 2H with DH and TGW and marker Bmag273 on chromosome 7H with SL were novel ones. The present study provides a set of candidate SSR markers for future QTL/marker assisted selection of these traits in braley.
