Abstract

The fruit bearing habit in the jack is detailed. The blossom biological data pertaining to the periods taken for the various developmental phases of the blossoming and fruit development are recorded. The details about the time of anther dehiscence, the period of stigma receptivity and the technique of hand pollination based on these features are furnished. Preliminary indications of pollination effects are detailed. Hand pollination with suitable and adequate pollen appears to lead to better filled fruits with more of mature and edible flakes than results from less suitable pollination.
