Embryo culture technique proved to be successful in growing immature tomato embryos. A medium suggested gave a better balanced seedling than cither White's or Tukey's media. The optimum temperature for growing excised tomato embryos was found to be 27-1°C. The optimal’ pH of the medium for growing immature tomato embryo was found to be G.5 The source of carbohydrate may be sucrose or glucose at a concentration 1 to 2%.
