The present investigations were made to study the effect of different micro-nutrient sprays in relation to sources of nitrogen on Blood Red variety of sweet orange (Citrus sinensis L. Osbeck) on Jatti Khatti (Citrus jambhiri Lush) root stock at the Regional Fruit Research Station, Punjab Agricultural University, Abohar. The experiment was in progress from December, 1963 to September, 1968. Zinc, copper, manganese, iron sprays alone or the latter three in combination with zinc significantly increased the amount of their respective elements in leaves. There was an increase of 227–273 per cent zinc, 350–400 per cent copper, 69–71 per cent manganese and 48–95 per cent iron in the leaves sprayed with the respective micro-nutrient over the control. Combination of copper, manganese or iron with zinc as foliar sprays was compatible. CAN, CAN+FYM and green manure treatments failed to effect significantly the chemical composition of sweet orange leaves. The three nitrogen sources were equally efficient in meeting the nitrogen needs of citrus.
