Abstract

Studies on effects of three concentrations of copper spray on guava var. ‘Allahabad Safeda’ were carried out at the College of Agriculture, Banaras Hindu University during 1966–67 and 1967–68. The copper spray increased the extension of terminal shoot, number of leaves and leaf area per shoot significantly and most efficient concentration was 0.4 per cent. The maximum reduction in chlorosis was observed with 0.4 per cent spray. This significant reduction in period of maturity and increase in yield was recorded with 0.4 per cent spray. The fruit weight, length, diametre, reducing sugars, non-reducing sugars, Vitamin C and pectin were significantly improved whereas significant reduction in acidity was exhibited under 0.4 per cent spray.
