Abstract

Anatomical studies of the fruit tissue revealed an appreciable difference in cells of sprayed and unsprayed fruits. 2, 4, 5—T plus GA treatments at pit-hardening increased the cell volume by 102.56 per cent while sprays made at full-bloom reduced it appreciably as compared with control. On the basis of present studies it may safely be concluded that the spray of 2, 4, 5—T alone or in combination with GA at pit-hardening is highly beneficial for the increase in size and yield of apricot fruit, whereas, their sprays at full-bloom proved harmful. Lower dozes of 250 ppm GA in combination with 12.5 ppm 2, 4, 5—T at pit-hardening produced highly beneficial results.
