The new vegetative shoots in Jamun emerged in two distinct flushes i.e., from February to May and August to October. The growth of these shoots was cyclic and it took place in two cycles i.e., from first week of March to second week of April and from second week of August to last week of October or second week of November. Differentiation of flower buds was observed in branches whose age varied from 5 to 10 months. The shoots which appeared in the different months produced cent per cent inflorescence.
