Abstract

The paper presents the results obtained on the evaluation of the toxic potency of DNOC alone and in combination with miscible oil (Esso Tree Spray oil) for the control of San Jose Scale. Esso Tree Spray oil 3 per cent gave better performance than DNOC or in their combination for the control of this pest, though no statistical difference was observed between Esso Tree Spray oil and its combination with DNOC. However, where the orchards are infested with lichens or sufficient quantity of oil is not available, half the quantity of oil may be safely replaced with the reciprocal quantity of DNOC.
