Abstract

Three doses of DBCP (Nemagon) (37, 74 and 148 kg/ha) applied to the soil in the basin in irrigation water for the control of the citrus nematode (Tylenchulus senri-penelrans Cobb, 1913) on 18-year-old sweet-orange trees in sandy-loam soil resulted in complete decimation of the larvae within one month and of the adult females within 5 months. The population of this nematode did not build up during the following 16 months. The treatments also resulted in 100 to 200 per cent increase in fruit yield.
