The experiment was carried out to study the response of growth regulators on root formation of Mary Palmer variety of Bougainvillea. The hardwood cuttings of the above variety were treated with different concentrations by dip method using three growth regulators. The results have clearly indicated that 1,500 ppm of IBA has given highest percentage of rooted cuttings. This is the easiest and most convenient method of propagating Mary Palmer variety of Bougainvillea over the traditional method of air-layering.
