Abstract

A sand culture experiment was conducted to study the effect of boron nutrition on the growth of garlic. Insufficient supply of boron checked the growth of garlic plant and reduced the clove number per bulb. Maximum performance of boron nutrition was obtained between 0.50 and 1.00 ppm. Increased supply of this element upto 1.00 ppm helped in increasing the plant ratios. Application of boron beyond 1.00 ppm seems to be toxic for this crop.
