The effect of differential crop level on carbohydrate and amino acids reserves in the canes and buds was investigated on Italian Riesling vines. The increase in bud load was associated with decrease in carbohydrate content. Changes in amino acid concentration were variable and did not show consistent trend in relation to crop level.
