Abstract

Investigation were conducted to study the effect of CEPA 480 ppm, GA 50 ppm and their interactions, on sex expression of two muskmelon varieties, Earligold and Sarda. GA applied simultaneously with CEPA or 1 and 2 days before or after, failed completely to reverse CEPA action on variety Earligold. In variety Sarda, it showed partial reduction of CEPA action on number of days to first female flower appearance and the number of male flowers produced. It could not, however, reverse the CEPA induction of female flowers in the leaf axils in both the varieties.
