Banana mosaic is estimated to cause heavy losses in South Gujarat Area, Heat-therapy suggested that hot water treatment to the rhizomes is not the practical proposition as the treatments are injurious to the host tissue. Dry-heat treatment of 40°C for one day is useful in curing the infected rhizomes effectively. Out of the fungicides tried, systemic fungicide R.H. 124 and antibiotic Aureofungin were found to be effective to considerable extent in supressing the symptoms.
