Abstract

A five parental diallel cross in garden pea was carried out. Heterosis was observed for days to first picking, number and weight of pods per plant. Five out of ten crosses gave significantly greater yield than their respective better parents. The hybrid Little marvel x Asauji exceeded in yield the better parent to the tune of 102 per cent. The hybrid Burpiana X Asauji was the earliest. Both the crosses were significantly superior to the rest of the crosses and their respective better parents.
