A comparative study of the three cropping patterns of guava viz., rainy season, winter season and whole year, with regard to their yield pattern was done. Time and duration of harvest, and total number and mean interval of fruit picking were recorded. Harvesting duration and picking intervals were shorter in the rainy season cropping pattern and rain crop of the whole year cropping pattern than the winter season cropping pattern.
The yield in respect of both weight and number of fruits per tree was found to be maximum in the whole year cropping pattern followed by the winter season and rainy season cropping patterns respectively. The differences among the cropping patterns were highly significant. From the nutrition as well as economic point of view, the adoption of the winter season cropping pattern has, however, been suggested to the majority of growers.
