Abstract

The present studies were conducted at the Punjab Agricultural University, Ludhiana, during 1971 and 1972. The double-sigmoid growth curve was quite evident. Titratable acidity was negatively correlated with the T.S.S. TSS increased rapidly at the beginning of stage III. During stage II, the auxin level was higher. Maximum gibberellin activity was noticed on April 21, whereas at full bloom this activity was absent. The ABA-Iike activity increased during stage I and became low during stage II (June 2) but activity increased rapidly on June 9 and maintained this increase through harvest (Stage III).
