The experiment was conducted at Anand to compare three methods of grafting namely splice, whip-and-tongue and wedge and it was found that it is possible to do bench grafting under Anand conditions, on very young mango seedlings having the age of 1 to 2 weeks with bronze coloured leaves and the stone attached. The best period for bench grafting was found to be form 2nd week of July to the end of August. All the three methods of bench grafting were found equally good; however, these could be arranged in decending order as whip-and-tongue, wedge and splice according to the final success of grafts recorded after three months.
