The trial on rooting of Pear cuttings was conducted at Ludhiana. The Patharnakh pear cuttings were treated with IBA and NAA at 100, 200 and 300 ppm concentrations, prior to and after callusing. The cuttings treated before call using gave higher rooting percentage. IBA was observed to be the most efficacious root promoter in pear cuttings. The maximum (64 and 68 per cent) rooting in pear cuttings was observed with 100 ppm IBA treatment given prior to callusing. The concentration of IBA and NAA as after callusing treatment had no significant effect on the rooting of Patharnakh cuttings.
