Abstract

Freshly extracted seeds of Anab-e-Shahi, Early Muscat and Cardinal did not germinate at all even when treated with GA3 upto 750 ppm and thiourea 20,000 ppm. As the period of stratification increased, the seed germination also increased. Sixty days period of moist stratification was sufficient for maximum seed germination in all these cultivars. Gibberellic acid (250 and 500 ppm) and thiourea (10,000 ppm) were the most effective in improving the germination of grape seeds.
