Abstract

Experiments were conducted to check the pre-harvest fruit drop on the apple Cv. Lord Lambourne using NAA and Planofix during the year 1973 and 1974 at Regional Fruit Research Station, Mashobra. On an average 56 to 61.8 per cent fruit drop was noted in the untreated control trees. NAA and Planofix each at 10 ppm (a.i.) checked fruit drop to the extent of 4.8 per cent and 5.6 per cent respectively in the year 1973 and 4.0 per cent and 3.8 per cent respectively in the year 1974. Significant increase in weight, diameter and length of the fruit was also seen in the treatments containing NAA 10 ppm and Planofix 10 ppm over others. Storage life and fruit quality was not altered by these treatments.
