Effect of 2, 4-D, Ga₃ and Cycocel on Fruit Growth Pattern of Kinnow Mandarin

Effect of plant growth regulators e. g., 2, 4-D, GA₃ and Cycocel on the fruit growth rate of Kinnow mandarin were studied. In general, Kinnow fruits made progressive increase in diameter with a sharp spurt from August 24 to September 8, the rate of increase in fruit diameter declined thereafter with the ultimate cessation of growth by first week of January. The foliar application of 2, 4-D (10 ppm) and Cycocel (100 ppm) had increased the fruit diameter considerably as compared to their lower concentration, GA₃ and control.
