Abstract

A five parental diallel cross was carried out in pea. Variances due to both general and specific combining ability were highly significant for all the characters studied. Little Marvel and Progress were the good general combiners. High specific combining ability effects were found in the crosses, Progress x Burpiana for earliness in flowering and Little Marvel x Progress for pod yield.
