Response of pinched and unpinched rooted terminal cuttings of Chrysanthemum morifolium Ram cv. ‘Early White’ to treatment with maleic hydrazide (MH), 2-chloroethyl-trimethyl ammonium chloride (cycocel) and N-dimethyl aminosuccinamic acid (B-Nine) in two concentrations were studied. Marked retardation in plant height over control was noticed under all the treatments and maximum suppression was recorded with MH at 2000 ppm followed by cycocel at 10000 ppm. Pinching caused reduced plant height and lesser number of nodes. Maximum branching was noticed with B-Nine at 10000 ppm. Pinching reduced total branch number, leaf number and flower number. But leaf size and flower size were increased by pinching. Earliness in flowering and maximum flower production were noticed with 10000 ppm B-Nine.
