Abstract

Attempt(s) were made to classify plum clonal stocks into different vigourgroups on the basis of stomatal density. Among 9 plum stocks studied the number of stomata per unit area (100 x 12.5 x) varied from 18.98 to 6.62. On the basis of above variatiation(s) the stocks were divided into four groups. Myrobalan A was classified as Very Vigorous, Myrobalan B, Flowering Plum as Vigorous; Brompton, Julien A (G) Julien K(m), Common Plum as semi-dwarf and Pershore, and Damas C as dwarfing stocks.
