Abstract

Trials were conducted at Chaubattia to assess the practical utility of aerial bulbils of garlic. A considerable yield (96.10 q/ha) was obtained from the aerial bulbils when planted at closer distance (10 x 20 cm) which is the minimum spacing for weeding and hoeing. This was in comparison to the maximum (129.06 q/ha) obtained under the plantings with cloves at the same spacing. It, therefore, clearly indicated that the aerial bulbils can also be used as a planting material for garlic. Maximum net return was obtained from cloves followed by aerial bulbils when planted at closer spacing.
